The Masonic Community is one of the largest charity organizations in the world. Besides the Shriners we have other groups that raise money for diabetes, Hearing Impaired Kids, Abuse and Homeless Shelters, dental needs, just to mention a few.
This community tolerates zero abuse of children and women.

Shriners International, also commonly known as TheShriners, is a society established in 1870 and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, USA.[1] It is an appendant body to Freemasonry.
Shriners International company describes itself as a fraternity based on fun, fellowship, and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth. There are approximately 350,000 members from 196 temples (chapters) in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Bolivia, Mexico, the Republic of Panama, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Australia. The organization is best known for the Shriners Hospitals for Children that it administers, and the red fezzes that members wear.
The organization was previously known as "Shriners North America". The name was changed in 2010 across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.[2]
Despite its Orientalist theme, the Shrine is a men's fraternity, connected to neither Arab culture nor Islam. Its only religious requirement is indirect: all Shriners must be Masons (with the exception being in the State of Arkansas)[8] and petitioners to Freemasonry must profess a belief in a Supreme Being. To further minimize confusion with religion, the use of the words "temple" and "mosque" to describe Shriners' buildings has been replaced by "Shrine Center", although some individual local chapters are still called Temples.
Until 2000, before being eligible for membership in the Shrine, a Mason had to complete either the Scottish Rite or York Rite systems,[9] but now any Master Mason can join.[10]
While there are plenty of activities for Shriners and their wives, there are two organizations tied to the Shrine that are for women only: The Ladies' Oriental Shrine and the Daughters of the Nile. They both support the Shriners Hospitals and promote sociability, and membership in either organization is open to any woman 18 years of age and older who is related to a Shriner or Master Mason by birth, marriage, or adoption.
The Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America was founded in 1903 in Wheeling, West Virginia,[11] and the Daughters of the Nile was founded in 1913 in Seattle, Washington.[12] The latter organization has locals called "Temples". There were ten of these in 1922. Among the famous members of the Daughters of the Nile was First Lady Florence Harding, wife of Warren G. Harding.[13]

Why do (did) the majority of the general population see the JWS is a decisive fraud ?
by Finkelstein inthe jws /ibsa have been going door to door now for over 100 years in many lands and countries, with numerous pieces of supporting literature counting in the millions.. you would think after all of the publicizing that the jws faith would have grown leaps and bounds but to date the jws has only 8 million following adherents.. other christian based faiths have grown vastly more but never publicly proselytized their faith to the extent the jws have... my basic concise guess is that they see this organization as a bit of commercialized fraud, orchestrated by a religious publishing house namely the watchtower corporation, trying to get people to purchase and read the wts's literature.. and yes the wts did place a set price on its literature including yearly subscriptions.
was it just too obvious ?.
did the wts not think that many people who they called on were from even bigger and older established christian faiths but didn't say or preach what the wts was preaching in their apparent version of the gospel ?.

The "Elder" gave me the booklet on Families after talking to me daily for 5 years "to see how I would react". I was in my early 60's at the time. I reacted alright, just not the way he had hoped. I had raised 2 kids as a single mom with many comments your children are so polite and well mannered. They both attended college, one graduated and one dropped out after 3.5 years (far to many majors). LOL. Well the booklet on Families set off so many alarms for this worldly mother. One question I asked the "Elder" When do you ever expect your children to grow up and make a decision for themselves? I refuse to go to the borgs website so basicly it states something like, from memory, that a high school student was discussing with his parents that he was considering doing the following...... during the next school year. I read that statement and my eyes just popped right out of my head. Now that is what occurred in middle school. My kids made their own decisions in high school. Both were in college prep classes. I finally figured out what classes they were taking when report cards came out for the first semester. As far as after school activities I found out about those immediately because they needed rides. By high school my kids were pretty much self sufficient. Hell, life is tough and you need to know how to make decisions that will best fit your lifestyle and goals. My questioning of that booklet got me "Good bye, have a nice life" email no explanation.

Chook,
In 2000 I was not given 2 years to live but got a talking to by a massive amount of doctors as to the collision course with death my life style was leading. At the time I was working minimum 60 to 70 hours per week (owner of the company), pretty much a single parent since dad would not have nothing to do with kids plus most if the time he did not work, in a very abusive marriage and the list goes on and on Plus just diagnosed with cancer.
Well the diagnosis was my wake-up call
Kicked the husband out
Very nicely asked 1/2 of my clients to find someone else
Sold the 4 story colonial in the city moved into 1/2 the space in the suburbs (kiddies were not so pleased at first)
Kids transferred from the ultra high priced private schools to public schools
Mom spent a lot more time with her kids!!!
Then 10 years later retired earlier then I had originally planned. Now I am enjoying my grand babies every day.
As of the check up last month cancer free 17 years.

Todays WT, study with worldy kids if you can
by purrpurr inaccording to today's wt, jws are now encouraged to start bible studys with worldy kids even if their parents dont want to join in.
the wt suggests that the study should take place with the parent present or with another mature jw present.. the wt suggests that studying with the kid may make the parent eventually want a study too.. ...
in what situation would any worldly parent allow some stranger from a werid cult to come jnto their house and convert their children?
